Pretty Girl!
Our little Chammy got a hair cut and a bath. She's so soft and fluffy! When I picked her up, I couldn't help giggling over the bows on each ear. She looks so cute!!

One GREAT Day!
What does a gal do, who has the day off work, and has BOTH kids at preschool? My first "day off" in almost five years!! Woohoooo!! Took the kids to school, the dog to the groomer, went to the bank, officially filled out all the paperwork to enroll Keegan in kindergarten, ran a couple of other errands..... THEN when I thought, "Hmmm, I should really go home, take advantage of this time and get the dishes and laundry done!" Did I do that? NO WAY!! I got a mani, a pedi, and went to the mall and ended up getting a free makeover at Sephora!! Why you ask? Because I could! All you moms out there will understand the joy of doing anything you want, just because you can!

Happy Happy Joy Joy
Mr. Keegan is officially going to kindergarten this fall!! I did a LOT of research in January about all the different kindergartens in the area. I chose one out of district-- to which one of Keegan's friends is going, and I rated the top 3 in our own district that I could handle. I filled out a district transfer form in February for the school in another district-- and even though they said "first come first serve on the waiting list," they decided to hold a lottery for places on the list. Well, he ended up 12th-- which is practically another kindergarten class. With all the state budget cuts, that's not happening! So, I filled out a transfer form for the top choice school in our own district, probably about 3 weeks ago. We just got the letter in the mail today indicating that he has been accepted!! (I have a friend whose 3 kids go there, including one just graduating from kindergarten, and he highly recommends that school!) Yay!! I just couldn't be happier right now.

Preschool Anxieties....
Preschool Anxieties.... No, not for Tustin... for ME! Today was Tustin's very first day of preschool! He did great today. No problems at all. I was a bit sad dropping him off... not sad, but, I don't know, it's just a strange feeling. Like he is officially growing up. He didn't care one single bit that I left. Oh well, guess that's a good thing for him! It took him a little while to fall asleep at nap time, but other than that, his teachers said he had a lot of fun today. He told me all about his day in the car on the way home. He did some artwork (painting) for me that I'll get to see on Wednesday. We had a fun photo shoot this morning. They boys took turns using the camera, and showing off thier new Transformer and Star Wars lunch boxes.

Annual Trip to the Del Mar Fair!
Or should I say, "The San Diego County Fair." The boys and I went to the fair with Nonny on Friday. We didn't know it, as advertising indicated otherwise, they decided to open the fair at 11am, instead of 10am, so we were there an hour early, and had to wait in line for a bit. That didn't start the overly-excited kids off to the best day. But, we ended up staying until about 3:30pm, and had a wonderful time! (I highly recommend, for anyone with a family with kids, to get the package ticket deal at Costco! You save SO much money!) The sun never quite came out, but that was okay with us. Didn't have to lather up with sunscreen, and didn't have to worry about dragging around in the heat! It was some type of musical theme this year. They had a really great area where the kids could put on head phones and play instruments to their hearts' content! (The best part, no noise to the passersby!) AND, it wasn't really too crowded that day. We had a really great time!
Rides Galore!
Always Looking Forward to...
Got Music?
There was another room set up with all kinds of drums. There was a guy who worked there, leading the beat. Everyone else could pick a drum, sit down, and try to keep up. It was pretty fun. The age difference was obvious at this activity. Keegan really loved groovin' with the drums, and Tustin was so in to stacking them!!

End of the Year Picnic
Keegan's (and soon to be Tustin's) preschool had their end-of-the-year annual picnic on Friday evening. Burgers and hot dogs were cooked up for us, and it was a pot luck for everything else. We spread our picnic blankets our on the lawn, ate some good food, and watched the kids run around and play. Coach Amy from "PlayBall" showed up with her activities for the kids. Tustin joined in, to get the idea of what he will experience in just two more weeks when he starts preschool for the very first time!!

Infected by a Virus!
No-- NOT ME!!! My computer. It was horrible. One day, these pop-ups started telling me I have a horrible worm virus. They look just like antivirus software, with a shield and everything. It was called Personal Antivirus-- or "PAV worm" as the techies called it! Luckily, I knew it was a scam, and didn't hit "yes" when they asked if I wanted to run the virus scan-- that's how they get in, steal your passwords, and wipe your hard drive clean! I couldn't even Google for how to get rid of this virus, because after the virus DE-ACTIVATED my own anti-virus software, it blocked everything on my Internet when doing Google searches. It was horrible. Took it in to a fix-it shop, and they were able to get rid of the virus, and save everything on my computer!! Whew! So, I haven't had my computer up and running for a week-- but now I'm back in action!
Sea World Summer Nights!
Nonny, the boys, and I, decided to head over to Sea World Friday night for their summer kick off! We got there around 5pm. We had such a great time! It was fairly crowded, but not nearly what I thought it would be. We saw 3 shows: Cirque De La Mer (acrobat/water show), the Dolphin show, and Sesame Street 4D (which the boys really loved). We saw the polar bears/walrus/beluga whale exhibit; the manatees; flamingos; we even saw a bunch of wild bunnies (free-loaders)! AND, we went on all 3 rides in the kids play area. The boys spent a long time climbing on the rope climbing structures (Mr. Keegan even thought it would be a good idea to drop his pants, 20 feet up, and pee over the side!!! Yes, in the middle of all the people around, in broad day light! OMG!@) Over all, we had a great time, and the boys had a lot of fun!
Fireworks!
Just when we thought we couldn't hang in there any longer..... I asked someone to confirm that the fireworks were at 9pm. (We got there at 5pm, and we had a great time, but it was already an hour past bed time!) NOOOOooooo, the fireworks were at 9:50 pm!! Well, I've tried to take the boys to see fireworks at Sea World two times before, and for some reason, they weren't fireworks nights. SO... after hanging in there for 4 hours, we decided to stay for one more hour!! :-) This was their very first fireworks show-- and it was well worth the wait for them. Tustin said "Oh, this is so cule!"

A New Adventure-- the Amtrak!
We definitely have to thank our new friends, for exposing us to so much fun this weekend! (Michael is in Keegan's class at school; we went with their family.) They suggested we take a train ride to San Juan Capistrano, let the kids enjoy ZooMars, the petting zoo in the area, and then have a nice lunch, and take the train back to San Diego. We did just that-- and we had an incredible time! For the boys, I think waiting for the train to come into the station was as much fun as actually riding on the train! Due to the Rock n' Roll Marathon on Sunday, we decided to drive up to the Solana Beach station, rather than try to fight traffic to get to my building for parking, and try to get on the train from San Diego. It was a wise decision-- the train ride was only 45 minutes. I think if it had been 30 minutes longer each way, the boys (or the adults dealing with the boys) might not have enjoyed it quite so much!
Guinea Pigs & Rabbits
In the Historic District of "Los Rios," in San Juan Capistrano, the first stop we made was ZooMars. ZooMars is a great little petting zoo, animal interaction zone, and play area for kids and adults alike. It is less than a quarter of a mile from the train station, which was perfect for walking right to it after we got off the train. The kids were SO excited! This isn't like the little petting zoo at THE Zoo. This had more animals to pet, and more activities to enjoy. The boys were so sweet with the animals, they loved holding the Guinea Pigs. The rabbits were a little more tricky to catch, but they loved the veggies too. Keegan said, "Mom, you know why I want a Guinea Pig as a pet? It's because you you can hold them, and cuddle with them. You just can't do that with fish!" (Not that we have fish, but he's definitely hinting.... I'm thinking maybe hamsters first. Anyone have suggestions as to what age is appropriate for hamsters?)
