Kindergarten Test

I went to a kindergarten preparedness seminar on Thrs. night, to hear from the experts (k- teachers) all about kindergarten and when they think kids are ready. No one thinks a 4-year-old is ready, but we are sending Keegan this year anyway. One "test" for readiness is to ask them to "Draw a Person." If they draw a funky, barely stick-figure, then they aren't there yet. Anything more than a stick figure is great. This is Keegan's rendition of a person, as he described to me: the head, eyes, mouth, shoulders, neck, body, arms, hands and fingers, "pee pee" and legs. So, his "person" has no feet! It's not the end of the world! Maybe he just doesn't like wearing shoes. :-)
