Physics Fair

Our school district (and the Boys & Girls Club) hosted a physics fair for the kids at a local school yesterday morning. I figured I'd take them over and see what was going on. It was pretty fun-- the kids loved it. Alka seltzer and Sprite poppers; balloon races (blowing up balloons, taping them to a straw, on a string, and letting them go with their own air power); pressure bottle rockets-- as you seen in the photos. That was hit of the day for the boys. They got to choose how much water to put in the bottles, and the man pumped 50 lbs of pressure (psi something or other) in to each one, and based on the amount of water in the bottle we had to figure out if it would shoot high or not.

Nice Weekends in March

Last weekend, the boys had a picnic lunch on the front porch-- it was about 80 degrees outside!! The other pictures are of Tustin's new interest... he likes to play Daddy's motorcross XBox game, and he's so good at it! Turns, jumps, under bridges, etc... I'm pretty shocked watching him. I think Daddy found the son with the interest in supercross/motorcross. It's definitely not Keegan!

A Little Lounging Around

The boys are allowed to watch a movie on our bed every once in a while. But no eating on the bed! So, Keegan drags his lounge chair to the bedroom so they can still relax while they are watching and eating! And Tustin gets in a little cozy time with Daddy-- watching supercross.

Busy times!

I know I haven't blogged in a while! Wow, life has been busy. I changed my work-out schedule from 5-6am to 8-9pm. And my evening ours are my prime blogging times (other than weekends, and those have been packed as well). So, I'm not on the computer as much anymore. Those of you FB will know my doings, as it's much easier to make comments, with my phone in my hand, anywhere I am, rather than the computer! But no worries-- the photos will keep coming. Just haven't taken too many lately!

I ran a 4-mile St. Patrick's day run with a friend this past weekend. The boys were right there at the finish line to tackle me with hugs, that was great. I should be getting pictures of that, and I'll get those up when I can.

Lots of weekend birthday parties and other scheduled events! Busy busy!

Keegan's Award

A few weeks ago, Keegan's teacher called and said that Keegan would be getting an award for his Honesty in the Classroom at their next assembly. Chris and I both took time off work in the middle of the day to go, and we are glad we did! He was so excited and proud of his award-- it was so nice to enjoy that with him! (And he was one of very few (unfortunately for his class) to be recognized for 1) perfect attendance; 2) turning in all of his homework every week since the beginning of school; 3) doing all of his nightly reading every night; 4) and returning his library books to the school library every week.)

Fun Times

These are some fun pics of the boys, just hanging out at home. Keegan is sitting at his desk in one photo-- READING to the family!! Yes, reading, a simple-word story with sentences. Pretty exciting. In other photos, he is doing a poster for his class room-- it's all about him and his family. He and Tustin woke up early last Sat. morning and started working on it together, all by themselves. He gets very excited about his school work.

Cabrillo Monument

We had a fun President's Day! We decided to take advantage of beautiful, sunny San Diego, and be local tourists. We walked all around the Cabrillo lighthouse, gift shop, checked out the views on both sides of the point out there. Didn't see any whales passing by, but we were looking. Daddy had to work, but Nonny joined in on the fun.

Beautiful Day in San Diego

It must have been 80 degrees on the coast in San Diego last weekend. We had a wonderful time exploring the light house and the surrounding areas.

Tide Pools

Well, the tide was too high, but we went down there to take a look anyway! Beautiful day!

Chuck E Cheese's

Went to a birthday party this month at Chuck E's. It's a bit crazy there... but the kids LOVE it!!!

Chuck E's

Train driving, space shooting, you name it, they enjoyed it!

Disney On Ice!

Keegan, Tustin, Nonny & I were all super excited to go see Disney on Ice this past weekend! Daddy had to work, so Nonny gladly filled in for his ticket. She mentioned something about not being at the Sports Arena since a Neil Diamond concert in 1969.... but that was BT! (Before Tif) So, we walked around, checked out some of the vendors, got the kids crazy blue slushy drinks (which not only turned their entire mouths a deep shade of blue... but just think about what came out the other end on the toilet the next day!!) We got our popcorn and settled down for the show to begin-- they both loved it, all the way through! Tustin got a little antsy in the last ten minutes, but other than that, all four of us really enjoyed it!

What Characters!

Yes-- including Tut and his new do! We had a blast seeing Mater, and all the other Cars characters; Tinkerbell and all the other pixies in Pixie Hallow; Aerial the Little Mermaid; and Simba and Nala, and all the other characters from the Lion King!

I Walked Right In to That One!

It was time for a little book reading before bed last night. But, since Keegan wanted to spend so much time on homework, I told him to pick just one book. He picked a big book about birds... like ones that bird enthusiasts read (he had asked Santa for it a couple of years ago). I said "Keegan, that's not a book that has a story or anything to read..." he said he knew that. So, I told him to pick 3 birds that we could read about, and then bed time. I must have sounded super excited, because he said "What mom? Don't you like this book?" I said "Ya, well, I like reading stories to you, and... uh, I just don't know so much about birds I guess." Here's the "I walked right into that one" part.... He looked at me, and simply stated, "Well, I guess we better read this one more often then!"
