Welcome to our New Home!!!

Okay-- so not really a New House, but might as well be! Chris has completely transformed our house into Home Sweet Home! Venitian plaster walls, hard-wood flooring, crown molding, beautiful new table and furniture, brand new EVERYTHING in the kitchen-- really, everything, other than appliances! He worked hard, and now deserves a break! (Although, he loves it, and will surely find something else to do, in the very near future!) Enjoy the tour through our new home.

Welcome to Our New Hall and Kitchen!!

More "after" pictures! Here is our beautiful kitchen and hallway. Newly remodeled linen closet-- with drawers on the bottom, and a big cabinet with shelves on top! Beautiful base-boards down the hall that match the hall color. Beautiful base boards and crown molding throughout the rest of the house to match the cabinets and floors.

The Kitchen

I would have to dig deep to find true "before" pictures of the kitchen. Chris had those cabinets ripped out so fast, I didn't have a chance to document them. Your basic dull, brown, flat, boring, 35-year-old cabinets. Here are some pictures of what Chris has done since! Tile flooring, he built brand new cabinets, did the tile backsplash, and the tile floor. Beautiful!

Living Room and Floor

We have had carpet in the living room since we moved in (tile in dining room, hall, and kitchen). But, for the last few months, we have been living on concrete floors everywhere!! Chris worked hard to get the flooring done in the entire house, in one weekend! And the living room-- we've had those UGLY, horrible, green vertical blinds for 10 years. I am SO happy to be rid of them!

Dining Room, Hall, Paint & Tile

More before pictures-- or rather, "in the process" pictures. The boys enjoyed helping Daddy with the painting, and especially with the demolition of the tile throughout the house!

Good 'ole Pacific Beach

I heard about the HUGE surf last weekend (more on Friday that Sat/Sun), so I decided to take the boys to PB for the day on Saturday. It was still pretty big, but not "oh wow" big. From the minute the boys got onto the sand "Can we take our shoes off???" It doesn't matter how cold the sand is, or how cold the water is, they just don't care. The fun out-weighs anything else for them. They had a blast jumping and rolling down the hills of sand. They were super heroes-- FLYING through the air!

Sand Everywhere

Literally-- when I got those kids home, it was EVERYWHERE!!! It was great cruising around my old stomping grounds (I lived in PB for 8 years, I can call it "my old stomping grounds," can't I? Not to mention the 5 years prior to my move to PB, when my BFF lived there, and I spent 80% of my time with her!) Anyway, we had a great time. We ate lunch at Taco Surf (formerly Taco Salsa), where I've been eating for the last 27 years!! Pretty crazy. The owners' YOUNGEST daughter was running the cash register-- she wasn't even born when we started eating there. AND- Keegan ate an entire, full-sized, bean and cheese burrito! YAY Keegs.

Hide and Go Seek

The tide was low, as you can see, and the boys had a great time playing hide-and-go-seek under the pier!

Surf, Sun & Shadows

The boys had so much fun running around at the water's edge... too cold for me! But I had a great time getting shadowy pictures of them, with the big surf in the background. I LOVE the one with the two of them looking at each other, with the BIGGEST smiles on their faces. Pure pleasure of the simple things. I blew that one up to 11x14 for a framed pic in my office!

Our New Years Weekend Tradition

For the last several years, we've found ourselves enjoying a beautiful 70-degree (plus) weekend over New Year's weekend. And, every year, I take the boys down to the embarcadero, and Seaport Village, to cruise around in the wagon, fly our kite, ride the carousel, and just enjoy the day. Unfortunately, we weren't able to fly our kite this year. They had part of the embarcadero park closed down for the clean-up aftermath of the Red Bull New Year's Even jump across the water down there. (A snow mobile and motorcyclist jumped simultaneously off ramps, from embarcadero north, over the water, to embarcadero south. It was a big, successful jump, but a long messy clean-up!) We had a great day-- enjoy the photos!
