Where has the time gone?

Being without my computer for at least TWO weeks has been driving me crazy! Among the list of things breaking down (my car, our dryer, my body), my computer has been on the fritz and in the shop a few times. But, I think we got the glitches worked out. (Fingers crossed please.)

Keegan has been on Spring Break for two weeks-- school starts back up on Monday. In that time frame, and shortly before break started, he had two doctor visits. Ear infection and pink eye! Good times. Both boys have battled colds/coughs. And I came down with tonsillitis last Friday and spent the weekend in bed, in severe pain!

I had an ultrasound of my kidneys, ovaries, and bladder-- more or less routine stuff (to followup on my kidney surgery from 35 years ago; precautionary since my grandmother had ovarian cancer, etc.) When the US results came back "abnormal" and it was requested that I get a CT scan for further evaluation, I must admit, I FREAKED OUT, because my doc basically said there was a mass on my upper left kidney! BUT, after reviewing my medical records from 35 years ago, they noted a "peripheral defect, left upper kidney, probably scar tissue." Let me tell you how well I slept that night, knowing this wasn't a "new" problem, but most likely resulting damage from years of bladder/kidney problems as a child! Relieved that I am-- I am also so thankful! The same day I was having my ultrasound, a really good friend's mother-in-law had a diagnostic CT scan which confirmed she has ovarian cancer. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, and we hope they caught it as early as they could!

I've been on Spring Break hours at work-- go in earlier so I can get off earlier-- and have been having a wonderful time withe the kids. No more mad rush to bath, brush, book, and bed them! The four of us have been playing checkers, lots of different card games, and just having a laughing, giggling time together!

Early Easter!

Nana-bunny came early this year! We had an early Easter celebration at Dad and TWSM's house this weekend, and Nana-bunny hid 32 eggs for the boys to find together! After we counted all 32, they got to split them up equally and place into their own baskets. They got some cool, super-bouncy balls to play with, and had a little out door bubble action as well. Tustin had fun taking photos, as he usually does! (That would be the group photo, without Tustin in it!)

Spencer's Birthday Party

We had a lot of fun last weekend at my high-school friend Shelley's house! Their last name is Lee, so they had Spencer's 7th birthday at "Lee-go Land!" There were Lego creations all of the house, that Spencer built; a table full of Legos for kids to play; and even a Pin the Head on the Lego Guy game (as you can see, Tustin was a little off!). It was so great to see Shelley & Angie and their families-- and a lot of fun to watch all the kids play together.

Spencer's Party

The kids had fun eating cupcakes (that they frosted and decorated themselves), and had a great time playing softball outside. Little sluggers!

Whelk Resort

The guys got to take advantage of a nice opportunity! Keegan's friend, Justine (in the picture-- oh, such a CUTE picture of them), and her family have a time share at the Whelk Resort in North County. It's a great place b/c you can trade your time for places practically anywhere in the world, but you also have the benefit of using the "common areas" any time you want. So, Justine and her mom took the guys up to the pool to play this past weekend. (While mommy was at home in bed, in pain, battling a touch of tonsillitis, and, of course, another sinus infection!)

Loose Tooth!

Keegan's got a loose tooth (finally)!! Doc says it's a good thing though, the less time his adult teeth are in his mouth, the less time they have to decay! His lower, right front tooth is the loose one. So, I told him we would take a picture after every tooth he loses, to keep a little mini photo album of how his smile changes over the years. Here's his BEFORE picture!

Rub a Dub Dub-- Two Goofballs in the Tub

Bye-Bye Bazzle

Sadly for us, but luckily for Bazzle-- we have found him a new, wonderful home! Daddy "tried" to be a cat person, "for the sake of the kids," but it just wasn't working out for him. All those cute little things that kitties do, that cat-people love (or rather, don't mind as much), Daddy-- not so much! (Shredding toilet paper, endless scratching/playing in the litter box, and, of course, the furniture scratching, etc..) I had a rough time at it, as I've never had to give up an animal before. And I really did fall in love with that kitty-- he's one of the SWEETEST cats I've ever had! The boys were sad too (but, of course, they are over it already). A nice guy from my work, and his wife, both big cat people, adopted Bazzle. He works with me, so we'll get pictures whenever we want. AND, she's the manager of a vet clinic-- so Bazzle will get the best of care whenever needed. It's the best possible scenario for a sad occasion for me. I hear he's getting used to their two other cats, and is starting to play a lot! Take care my sweet Baz!

The Whole (So Cal) Family!

We showed up in scores once again, to support Keegan for his special night at Open House. We had a great time looking around his classroom. We even got to "scope out" the 2nd grade classes and teachers, as well as the kinder classroom for Tustin (I'm hoping he goes into Keegan's kinder teacher's class). Way to go Keegan!

Open House Fun

Keegan's teacher had a LOT for us to look at during Open House-- it was so wonderful to get to see all the many projects that Keegan has been working so hard on in class all year. He showed us the computers they get to use in class as well. It was a very fun night for Keegan and his whole family!!
