Easter at the WAP-- I mean Children's Hospital!

The plan was to spend the day at the Wild Animal Park! The boys were VERY excited about going in the Butterfly Exhibit. So, we got there at 10:30, parked, went in, stopped for a quick picture on the Rhino... and headed the the Butterfly Exhibit. No stopping to look at any animals along the way. We got in line for the butterflies (about a 35-minute wait), and there was this really cool Thorny Acacia tree, right there along the walkway where we were waiting in line. Everyone was touching it (gently) and ooohing and ahhing about how much that could hurt someone. So, Mr. Keegan walks up to touch it, slips, and falls with both hands into it, and SLIDES down the thorns on the tree. About four minor, smaller cuts on his left hand, and a pretty deep 2-inch gash on his right palm. When he saw the blood gushing out-- it was all over. The medic at the park said it was borderline for getting stitches, so he preferred we had a doctor look at it. So, by 11am, he cut his hands, by 11:45 we had filled out all the forms and were being shuttled back to my car. Arrived at Children's Hospital ER at 12:30, and we just now got home at about 3:45pm! NO stitches (since it had been 4 hours from the time of the injury to the time the doctor actually saw him), but his wounds got cleaned up and bandaged pretty good! And that is how our Easter day was spent!! ARGH. Now I think we are all tired and a bit crabby!
