La Jolla Park

The kids had a lot of fun running around the grass area. Doing cart-wheels and somersaults. And we played a bit of Simon-Says on the hand-ball courts.

La Jolla Cove

We wanted to walk around the cove a bit, and show the kids the seals. There were plenty to see. We even saw a "brave" couple walk out on the outlet walkway, and get pummeled by a huge wave! It was a cloudy/overcast day, but the temperature was very comfortable. And the kids didn't care, they just had fun hanging out with their cousins! (And I had fun hanging out with my sissy!)

Fun at the Cove

The kids met a fun, furry friend. The little lab was so sweet, and loved her belly being rubbed! There's even one picture in here by one of the "junior photographers!" (Not sure which one of the boys, as they were all taking pictures.)

Tut Talk!

(Bear with me, I know I'm overdue for photo updates-- and I've got tons! Hopefully this weekend I'll catch up!)

So, I was getting Tustin ready for school, and he chose a Tommy Hilfiger sweater to wear (q Jack-me-down). I got him all dressed and said, "Wow, you look sharp today!" I explained to him what it meant, etc... so, later, Keegan comes out of his room. Tustin went running up to him... "Keegan, Keegan, look at me! I'm wearing a Tommy Hilfiger shirt, and I look POINTY today!" Oh, I couldn't stop laughing!!

Trick-or-Treating!

Halloween night-- I donned my 3rd costume for the month! Keegan decided for Halloween night, to go trick-or-treating-- he didn't want to be Optimus Prime, the Transformer. He wanted to be a scarecrow. So, I let him use my hat, which meant I had to go for the back-up plan. Pulled out my Miss Piggy costume to take the kids out. Pop and Daddy came too, while we walked around a few blocks near Nonny's house. They got some loot! If they eat one piece of candy every couple of days, they'll probably have enough to last for months!! Nonny's pretty decorations our front are in one of the pictures!

Keegan's Fall Festival

Keegan's elementary school hosts a Fall Festival every year. They have all kinds of games for the kids to play, and win prizes. Keegan actually won the cake walk in our round, of about 15 players! We took home a yummy, chocolate, spiderweb cake with a big plastic spider on top! (Nonny made a beautiful cake for the cake walk, and decorated a fancy box and everything. But that cake was one of the first ones to go!) There was a putting game, that Tustin was determined to win, but just couldn't quite get the ball in the little tiny hole. They caught rubber duckies in nets, by color. And they raced little tiny mice, with the assistance of Nana & Papa. Thank you to Nana & Papa for volunteering at the festival and working a shift in the kindergarten booth!

Fall Festival

There were so many more games for the kids to play: the farmer's food toss (look closely and you'll see the food flying through the air after the boys' tosses); a bean bag toss into the haunted house's windows; a ring toss on to creepy hands; and a water balloon spoon race. I've never seen Tustin concentrate so much in my life! He put his water balloon on the spoon, crouched down a few inches, and walked very steady and very slowly! The boy he was racing against got two water balloons in his bucket for every one of Tustin's! It was pretty cute to see him concentrating like that.

Fire Engine

On the way back to the car after the festival, we stopped in the front of the school, where there was a fire engine parked for kids to look at and ask questions of the fire personnel. A fireman showed us how he's got all of his gear ready to jump right into when they get called for a fire. And the boys got a chance to sit inside the fire engine.

Dressing Up for School (Work)

Friday was Scarecrow Day for Keegan's class. So, I bought him a little pair of overalls and a flannel shirt to wear, and put on some fun makeup. I hadn't really decided what I was going to wear to work as my costume, so I decided, if I was dressing him up as a scarecrow, then we might as well both go as scarecrows! Rather than dropping him off in the "kindergarten loop," I decided to park and walk him to the school's gathering area in the morning. (We stopped at his classroom so he could show me the scarecrow he made in class, the one with blue pants, above his head.) He had a little fun running around in his costume. A few of his friends dressed up as scarecrows too. Tutty was going to his Nonny's house, but he wanted his costume on too!

Oma's Pumpkin Patch-- Field Trip!

Keegan's kindergarten class took their first field trip of the year. And I volunteered to be a parent chaperone. We had so much fun! They had a big "snow" hill made out of cotton seed, and the kids took turns sliding down on saucers. There were various games, like basketball hoops set up. And there were towers of hay stacks to climb and jump on. Mommy got to ride the bus with Keegan and his classmates, and that was a lot of fun too. He sure slept well that night!!

Pumpkin Patch

The kids had so much fun at the pumpkin patch. There was a petting zoo, pretend cows you could actually milk, a really cool kid-sized hay maze, and all sorts of other fun things to do.

All Kinds of Fun

We got to go on an old-fashioned hay ride! They drove us through the dairy farm, and told us a little bit about how they run it. The kids got to climb on tractors, check out the cows, and roam through the pumpkins! They even got to take a pumpkin home with them.

Class Picture!

This is Keegan's class-- most of them anyway. And the other picture is one of Keegan's teachers. (He has two, they share a contract. And he loves them both!)
