Keegan's Winter Performance

Keegan's school's winter performance was last Wednesday-- and he did a GREAT job! Last year, for his kindergarten performance, he got stage fright in the worst way. He stood there, like a deer in the headlights, staring into the overwhelming audience of eyes and cameras; just moving his lips at times, but definitely not to the words of the songs. He almost teared up and cried a couple of times, he was so scared. It was actually pretty difficult to watch! This year, we talked about it, we even took turns practicing singing solo songs at home, in front of the Christmas tree-- all four of us, individually! It was fun. They sang one song about Christmas trees, and another about a "puny poinsettia!" He was looking for mommy the minute he walked in to the auditorium, and he was excited to see Mommy, Nonny and Tustin there to watch. He didn't really smile much during his performance, but he sang, did the arm movements and everything. He did a great job!

Hooray for Keegan!

I took a little time off work, and since Tustin was with Nonny for the day on Friday, they drove out to Keegan's school too, to see Keegan's winter performance. We had fun watching him, and congratulating him after. Nonny & Tustin even got to stay for lunch with Keegan, and recess too! Keegan thought it was pretty cool to have us there, and especially to have his brother and Nonny stay longer with him.

Nonny's Winter Wonderland

This is only one room of my mom's house! She pays so much attention to detail in every room just about, and it's like visiting Santa's Palace when we go over there. The kids love all the turning carousels, and musical gadgets, and the beautiful Christmas trees and lights everywhere!

Tree Decorating!

We had fun listening to Christmas music and decorating our big tree a couple of weekends ago. As you can see-- Keegan definitely had the most fun with the smile detector setting on my camera. If any of you have kids who don't like to smile for the camera, you have to get a Sony HX1 Cyber-Shot! You wont be able to get them to STOP smiling!

Funny Family Pictures

As you will see, in all of the "out-takes," someone is always flashing a smile for the camera-- to activate the smile dectector!

Gingerbread Cookie & Tree Decorating

We had a blast decorating Gingerbread Men and a constructing a Gingerbread Christmas Tree. Most of the candies did actually make it on to the gingerbread, rather than in the little mouths, but I'm sure they snuck a few treats while mommy wasn't looking! Once again, I just put my camera on a tripod, on the smile detector setting, and we had a blast taking one funny photo after another!

Christmas Tree Shopping 2010

Let's see, not last weekend, but the weekend before, we went out tree shopping! (I haven't blogged for a while!) I brought my camera and tripod, and we had a little fun at the tree lot. My camera has a "smile detector" which I use, rather than a count-down timer. Every time it recognizes a smile, it snaps off a picture. They boys had a blast goofing around in front of the picture, with big smiles, to see how many photos they could get the camera to take! We got a GREAT deal on a huge tree! Biggest one we've ever gotten, because usually they are too expensive. And we have never gotten a Noble Fir, because they are way more expensive than the Douglas. But this tree was perfect, and on the special deal row!! WE LOVE IT, and it's super fresh too. We got to use all of our ornaments this year, to decorate our big tree!
